Southouse India’s Nilgiri district has truly started to shine. Situated at the meeting point of the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, the region offers an abundance of mountain-like terrain, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, and vast, expansive gardens of tea.

During the winter growing season - January and February, when temperatures fluctuate between 20°C (68°F) and 0°C (32°F) - Nilgiri teas hit their peak. As the north winter winds blow, tea bushes push out new shoots slowly and more deliberately than in the summer, resulting in a raw leaf with a richer, more nuanced flavor.

The entire Nilgiri District, situated in Southern India is a single-use plastic-free zone - the result of a local grassroots campaign. This means that plastic bags, sacs or otherwise on the estate have long ago been replaced with less harmful materials.
